Meet the Designer

Ana Gutierrez

Ana Gutierrez was born in Costa Rica surrounded by the exuberant nature that this beautiful country possesses. This
influence has been transmitted both in her organic design, and in the continuous search to create environmentally friendly fashion.
From a very young age she began to create fashion together with her mother who taught her to sew and make her own clothes.

Later in life and after rising her son, she began to design jewelry with recycled silver from x-ray film

Her wearable art pieces contrasted high polish materials with others in their natural rough state. Organic shapes
reflect nature with a contemporary twist.

This caught the attention of international fashion gurus and her journey of almost 20 years began at Miami Fashion week 2007 where she was awarded Best Accessories Designer of the Year two years in a row.

Her love for horses and the years she enjoyed horseback riding at her father's farm in the Caribbean inspired her to create a collection of leather bags taking elements from the saddles and raines used by horsemen in the area.

Her handbag collections contrast tribal looks with modern life functionality, resulting in a contemporary ethnic style.

But her greatest passion is sewing and remembering those moments she enjoyed learning with her mother. Currently each piece is made one by one in the natural color and then hand-dyed creating a unique color palette and patterns that are true pieces of art

Her garments made from silk and 100% organic cotton are feminine and tell a story of effortless elegance.

Two times winner of the Diamond Accessories award at Miami Fashion Week 2007 and 2008, her provocative boho chic style is the new up and coming look for the season.

Previous collections have been showcased at Miami, New York and London Fashion Week events as well as the “Le Carrousel du Louvre Ethical” Fashion Show 2012 and Bihjorca 2013 in Paris, France.

She describes herself as a compulsive creator, serial entrepreneur and inveterate environmentalist.
